Heat pump performance map
Interpolate measured heating capacity and power, then compare them with a design load.
Enter capacity and total electric power from the same operating mode and indoor condition. Example points are illustrative.
Method & limits
Capacity and power are interpolated separately between adjacent outdoor temperatures; COP is their ratio at the requested condition. No extrapolation is allowed. A positive backup gap means the entered building load exceeds the mapped heat pump capacity at that condition.
The result represents only the operating mode and system boundary of the entered data. Keep indoor condition, speed, defrost, fan and auxiliary power, and delivery boundary consistent. This is not a seasonal efficiency rating or a replacement for measured equipment data.
Build confidence in the result.
Record assumptions and compare against independent evidence using the simulation validation guide.
